Yoga for the Neck and Jaw: September 21st, 1 to 4 pm, Yoga in Quartz Hill
Do you experience discomfort in the jaw and/or neck? Do you feel that these areas are tight and need to be stretched? Or do they feel weak and fatigued and need to be strengthened? Are you a yoga teacher who wants more skills in helping people with these problems? If you answered yes to any of these questions than this workshop is for you.
Stress, texting, driving, asymmetric sleeping positions, and the way we lift and carry items, create imbalances in the neck and jaw. These imbalances can lead to postural changes such as forward head, titled head and rounding of the upper back. Over time our compromised posture can affect our mood, lead to discomfort, reduced mobility, and/or chronic pain.
In this 3-hour workshop, we will explore movements that stabilize, stretch, and strengthen the muscles of the neck and jaw. Techniques explored will be yoga asana, vinyasa movements, resistance bands, therapy balls, Gokhale head cushion and wooden neck pillow.
